After W.VB back to the RV, and then I went up for the Majong lesson &, after watching for awhile, Sheila went out to shop for stuff for today’s St. Patricks Day Fun Club corned beef dinner. After the Majong game I helped Sheila make the carrot dish we were contributing and we went over to the ballroom for happy hour start at about 5. Everyone had some green thing on from shamrock sunglasses to weird green hats & wigs. The corned beef was marvellous; it had been cooking all afternoon & was very tender, like pulled pork. At our table we had Judy & Larry, Fred & Sally, Idaho Dave & Yvonne & us. After the meal they had an 8 man acapella group singing Irish & other old-time songs such as “Wait Till the Sun Shines Nellie.” After them, Georgia, the chief organizer for Fun Club sang “Danny Boy”. She has a marvellous voice, I heard she sang professionally at one time. Both her & the men’s group received a standing ovation from many of the guests. We finished after 7 and came home for an evening in the RV. The news about Japan has 2400 casualties with many missing and 2 or 3 explosions at their nuclear power plants, but no major radiation leaks as yet.
