Mar 20 Sunday - Palm Springs into AZ

Mar 20 Sun Day 62 - heavy overcast in early AM, continued into AZ, warm into low 70’s

We’re away Palm Springs Wal-Mart @ 11:00 @ 136577. We crossed the Colorado River into AZ @ 1:10 and pulled into a rest area for lunch @ 1:15 @ 136770, & out @ 2:20. Into Pilot gas stn in Quartzsite, in 2:35 @ 136791, out 2:55. We got advice from a customer at the station that the “ZIP Travel Plaza” about 25 miles up the road has gas 10 cents a gallon cheaper. I still need gas in the Focus because the gas tank is on the opposite side to the RV, so I can’t fill them at the same time. Off hwy to ZIP Travel Centre 3:30 @ 136836 for Focus gas, out 3:45. Gas was 10 cents cheaper, 3.49 instead of 3.59. I wish I had known before I put 34 gallons in at the Pilot Station. At exit 94 we left I 10 to drive 1/2 mile to Saddle Mtn RV Park & in @ 4:45 @ 136916. It’s a Passport America park & has 30 amp power, water & sewer but no cable TV and pay WiFi, which for a couple hours is too much, (you actually get 24 hours for about $5.00), but I would only use it for a short time in the evening. I can pick up 4 digital stations, (Fox & UPN & 2 Spanish stations), on the aerial & they come in really clear, but can’t get any analogue stations. After supper, Sheila went for a walk & finally found the showers. She said they were very nice, beautifully tiled & very clean, but the water wasn’t very hot, so we both showered in the RV.

Distance travelled – 339 kms – 211 miles, on road 4hrs, ave 85 kph, 53 mph
