Mar 3 Thurs, Sheila's Birthday

Mar 3 Thurs Day 45 sunny & warm, a few scattered clouds. High @ 10:30 am was 70.

For Sheila’s birthday we start out with Larry & Judy picking us up & we were off to the Thursday Breakfast Club at J & M Family restaurant to be there @ 8:30. Larry & Judy gave Sheila a nice BD card in the car. While there, Larry mentioned that today was Sheila’s birthday so everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to her and another fellow whose birthday is tomorrow. Sheila tried J & M’s multigrain pancakes & said they were really good. After breakfast, we drove back to GVP & were there by 9:45 for W.VB. After a short hot tub session we went back to the RV to change for the dance lesson Sheila had booked for 1:15. That went to 2:30. The instructor did show us a couple of new steps in rumba, foxtrot & reviewed a swing step the class did last week. The swing step was basically our jive step, so no problem there, plus she showed us a move we didn’t know. Then we went back to RV to get ready to go to Los Vaqueros for their Happy Hour, (3 to 7, it’s a long hour!). Before we left for the restaurant, I moved some CDN money into my US $ account because the rate is less than par, 1000 USD cost me 998 CDN! Seeing as we will be burning up a lot of gas going to New Mexico & then home, that is great! Then, we picked up Larry & Judy & drove to Los Vaqueros, a Mexican restaurant, (across the street from GVP) where we had a great time eating appetizers & drinking, Virgin Pina Coladas for me, and a virgin Strawberry Diaquiri for Judy. Sheila & Larry had Long Beach Iced Teas made with cranberry juice rather than coke & whatever liquors are in a Long Island Iced tea. After a jolly couple of hours & a delicious “dinner” of 4 kinds of appetizers, plus beef or chicken tacos, we dropped Larry & Judy at the RV Park gates & we went to see “True Grit”. (They’d already seen it.) I still like the original better, although the remake was OK, it just didn’t seem as exciting as the original. We stopped at Stater Bros. to get some items Sheila needed for her appetizer for tomorrow’s W.VB Happy Hour. Sheila said she’d had a wonderful day—one of the best birthday’s she’d ever had.
