Sunday Mar 13 - afternoon dance at the Elks Lodge

Mar 13 Sun Day 55 - forecast high 69, clear & sunny & warm

Up at 9 AM but that is only 8 AM old time so, it will be a slow start today. Up to W.VB as usual. It’s a nice warm day, bright sun, so temp is probably into the 70’s. After a cpl of hours relaxing in the RV, it’s off to the Elks Hall for the afternoon, (3–6 pm), dance with Larry Stevens. I gave line danceing one last final chance and I failed to grasp it. We did other dances including the 2 new steps we learned in the foxtrot & rhumba. I can get ballroom dance steps, why not line dance steps? Today they were offering a buffet for $6.50 which was quite good — two salads, meat loaf, jambalaya, rice, veggies, rolls & dessert. We left at 6:00, stopped for groceries at Vons, (the name Safeway uses down here), arrived back in time to phone Michael & Adeline’s home for a quick chat, got to talk to Ken too. Forgot to tell them to say “hi” to James & whoever else might have been there. Then we went over to the ballroom where there was entertainment. Janet, a Newfoundland lady & her California husband sang, goofed around & told jokes. The guy did a very good imitation of Sinatra. Sheila thought his voice was more accurate than some highly paid “tribute” singers we’ve seen. Janet had a very good voice for certain songs, but sounded off key on others. Returned to the RV for TV & journal/blog writing. VCR is now running rough on old videos too. There is no tracking control on the VCR remote so I can’t try to adjust it, looks like we’ll have to junk it & look for another one. That’s if they still even sell VCR’s!
