Mar 19 Saturday, working with the GPS, changed parking spots in the same Wal-Mart lot, (it's a big lot), and went to a movie

Mar 19 Sat Day 61 clear blue skies & sunny in AM

We headed out to the College of the Desert Street Fair, testing out the GPS enroute. The male American English voice is better than Jill’s American English but not by much. We wandered around the street fair for about 2 hrs buying stuff. Then we drove to Best Buy to see about getting the Australian English voice, but no luck. Evidently, even though the store demo model has it, it doesn’t come installed with the one we have. We need to go online & install it. They said if they did it for us, Garmin charges us another $100! We have a phone number for Garmin, (to check if we have to pay if we do it ourselves), but they aren’t open until Monday. We came back to the RV & moved it from the west side to the east side of the Wal-Mart lot for a second 24 hour period, hopefully they won’t notice. We could have gone east to the other Wal-Mart but Sheila wants to see “Social Network” at the cheap theatres in the mall at Date Palm Drive & Dinah Shore Way. It’s only a 6 min drive from the Ramon Rd Wal-Mart. I wasn’t impressed by it. I thought the main character was a brilliant but unsympathetic antisocial jerk. But Sheila liked it a lot; she thought it was an interesting character study. The movie theatre is the cheap one we discovered last year, the $2.00 general admission goes up to $2.50 after 6 pm Fri & Sat. Seniors’ day is Tuesday, when its only $1.50! And, they have a Family day when it’s 75 cents each, for groups of 3 or more. Their movies are ones that have just finished their “first run” but still that’s incredibly cheap by Cdn standards & a great way to see the movies you missed the first time at the theatres. On the way home we went into Wal-Mart, (this store is a 24 hr store), to check on “No-Ad”, the sun screen we like, & I found out the brand name has changed. “No-Ad” is no more. It’s now called “Equate,” comes in a smaller bottle, and, I suspect costs more.
